Since Crete is filled with many beautiful locations, it can attract a lot of visitors in certain months. Chances are that if you come in a very popular time of the season, you’ll be surrounded with many types of tourists and it can be a bit annoying. There is hope though! Crete is a great, relaxing place to visit during certain times of the year and there are even a few locations that aren’t quite popular yet. These areas can be the ideal retreat for anyone who wants to soak in the beauty of the area without having to deal with large crowds of tourists. I’m going to go over some of the most secluded beaches that lay within the glorious island of Crete. No need to worry about the large crowds!
Kyani Akti beach
This beach is located in the Souda Bay and it’s absolutely stunning! You can enjoy the long sandy beach that offers many secluded areas. It’s not completely deserted though, there are still areas to dine and have some drinks, but it’s far less populated than many of the other areas.
Frangokastello Beach
This beach is gorgeous and there are hardly ever any crowds. There are a few other beaches are settled right around this area as well. There are a lot of activities to take part in here without having to worry about bumping elbows with others. Enjoy a relaxing time snorkeling in the beautiful rocky seabed or take the kids swimming in the clear and beautiful waters. You can certainly enjoy the peace and quiet here and when you’re ready to return to society, you can visit the village of Frangokastello which has many dining options as well as taverns.
Kastelli Beach
This is located within the western area of Chania. This beach is absolutely beautiful with its golden sand and deep seas. The length of the beach is wide and there are many spots to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. After you enjoy all the beach has to offer, you can then make your way to Kissamos Kastelli, which is a nearby village who has many fine dining options.
Damnoni Beach
You really can’t find a better spot than this. It’s considered to be one of the best secluded areas within Crete and it’s very surprising that it isn’t loaded with people. The area is absolutely gorgeous and the deserted bays and sand will have you never wanting to leave.
Panormos Beach
As with many other villages in Crete, Panormos is an old fishing village. It’s located in the northern part of Crete and it offers many activities such as sun bathing or water sports. You’ll fall in love with the clear water and golden sand. Lucky for you, this particular area is rather secluded. There are many beauties to see in the wonderful island of Crete, but you don’t have to be stuck in the huge crowds. With a little bit of planning you can have a relaxing time by yourself or with your family.
